Mystique

Project Log

Mystique is one of those projects that everyone loves to see, and reminds me a lot of our dear friend Paul's (aka Coolmeister) work. Much like Paul, Koradhil bases his mods on the feel of the case he's modding, using the company's initial design as his inspiration. Of course, the beauty of modding is that the similarity stops there, and Koradhil has created something truly unique from his Coolermaster Mystique 631.

The initial case has several similarities to the Wavemaster case, but it is feature-rich with little "extras." Koradhil has worked to let the case's personality speak for itself, and has chosen to keep the clean and futuristic looks as part of his design. Coolermaster, A.C. Ryan and Starsystems.nl have each offered sponsorship for the project - a big thank you to each of these companies for your support of the modding community!

As with many great mods, Koradhil has started his out with a plan drawn in Sketchup. The clean mod starts off with a hole at the top and a fan grille for the radiator.

Koradhil has chosen to accent the case with UV green acrylic, which is used sparingly but with some great effect. It will compliment the green LCD going on the side panel nicely.

The window design has both a mesh and acrylic section, providing a clear view into the motherboard and the drive bay sections. There hasn't been any sign of modding to cover or decorate the drive bays, but the mod is still young - it could make a great addition to see some etched green plexi there, though!

Mystique also features a custom watercooling setup, and Koradhil is making the caps for his waterblocks by hand. The project is really starting to come together nicely, and looks impressive and clean when it's lit up.

We'll be looking forward to seeing what else Koradhil has up his sleeve for Mystique. Keep an eye on his log to see what's next!
